Hindi characters not showing up in windows phone 8

I'm trying to add support for $$anonymous$$ndi for my windows 8 project the text shows up fine in the editor and when I make a metro build but all the $$anonymous$$ndi characters disappear when building to phone is t$$anonymous$$s not supported? the $$anonymous$$ndi characters show up fine when added to a text field in the xaml layer over unity.

Did you include the fonts in the Assets?

I can only assume so it works everywhere else and the Chinese and Russian characters worked fine on the phone I'm not using any special font for any of those characters or anything.

The default Arial font that ships with Unity does have Hindi glyphs, so a GUIText with text set to "हेलो विश्व" renders in the editor. Does a trivial Unity project with just a GUIText not render correctly on WP8? (I'm on a Mac, so can't easily test.)

yes I'm seeing the same t$$anonymous$$ng if I set a up an empty unity project with just a GUIText the $$anonymous$$ndi characters show up in the editor but are gone when on the phone
