unity 4.3+ Importing problem from 3dsmax

greetings friends i have a strange problem after upgrading to a version newer than 4.2 here is the problem in details:

Unity 4.2 or older: 1- create a 3d room in 3dsmax and place the objects in the room. 2- export it to FBX format. 3- import to unity. 4- each object is imported in its right coordinates.

Unity 4.3 or newer 1- create a 3d room in 3dsmax and place the objects in the room. 2- export it to FBX format. 3- import to unity. 4- each object is imported in (0,0,0) coordinates thats mean all objects is centered , which destroys the room.

when i first encountered this problem i thought that i did something wrong , like a pivot , but i even opened an older project created in unity 4.2 opened in 4.3+ , when i created it in 4.2 the importing is good , but now even with the same project but newer unity version i have this problem , each imported object is centered at (0,0,0) no matter what export settings i did , so i come to conclusion that unity have something different when importing object files.

so is there any settings to change this behavior.

thanks for help

There is no settings for pivot adjustment in unity I guess.Check for each object u import position is showing (0,0,0) in unity inspector.

A quick fix for this is that u can do in 3ds max.

1)Place all object in the corresponding position

2)Select all objects in the room

3)Go to Hierarchy tab

4)Enable "Affect Pivot Only" button

5)Select the Move tool and right click on the move tool(a transform type in will show)

6)Put 0,0,0 for X y z position

7)Export every object to unity,All your objects will be in the respective position with pivot at (0,0,0)

try to group the objects in 3d max before export. group will act as one mesh but not effect the textures and materials.

you welcome! not sure why it happen to you but i can tell that i'm using unity 4.5 and max 2015. i just selected 3 object and export to fbx. they imported just fine! but all the three was created as children of a dummy object and this keep them in place.
