GameObject stuck in place when animator enabled

For the past week, I've been stuck on trying to get my main character object to move while having an idle animation play via the animator. Whenever the animator component is enabled on the gameObject it is stuck in the position it starts at until it the hit animation is triggered, but as soon as I disable the animator component then it works.

THINGS I HAVE TRIED:

-Removing the script on the gameObject that has the animator code in it.

-Replacing the idle animation with an animation that has no frames so it shouldn't affect the transform position.

-Enabling "animate physics" on the animator, which allows it to move up to 1F in a direction before being pulled back to the starting position

-Making the gameobject a child object of an empty gameObject, which allows it to move but stops it from colliding with anything, even if there is a box collider on the parent object.

-Trying to drag the gameObject while the scene is playing causes the rigidbody2d to automatically turn on Kinematic, yet even when the rigidbody2d component is removed the gameObject still can't be dragged in the scene view.

Any help would be great. ;)

I got the same issue :( I wonder if the actual animator file got damaged during building? I can add a animator component, but when I apply that animator asset, the player is stuck to spot
