Question by awesomeaustin316 · Sep 03, 2014 at 09:38 PM · errorcompiler

Compiler failed to execute

I have never had this problem before, but I recently switched to a new laptop. Basically I am only able to open unity once , then afterwards if I open it again I have to reimport everything for the compiler to work.If I don't, I get 4 errors saying it couldn't execute. I have tried deleting the library folder, making it admin, I am at a loss for words. I don't know why this could be happening and would love to har if anyone else is getting this problem

I get 4 errors saying it couldn't execute.

What do the errors say? Exact text is most helpful.

I can't say, because I think it's fixed. I deleted a group of assets I added. I remembered it working before those assets. So I deleted these assets and reimported what was left. I have one error message left that I have no idea what it means or how it will affect me.

I'm gonna answer my own question, if you import any new assets, get rid of them.If you get this error it's something in your assets folder. For me it was Dialog System and Top down RPG in the same project. I got rid of Dialog System and it's working well except for the error in my comment above. I hope this helps anyone out there. JUst Delete problematic assets, then recompile.
