Question by TRG96 · Sep 27, 2014 at 05:32 PM · rotation axis

How do I flip the rotation?

I am trying to rotate an object using gyro and it rotates fine but the left and right rotation is flipped meaning when you tilt the phone right it will rotate left.

 Origin = transform.rotation

 Void Update()
 {
  Transform.rotation = Origin * Input.gyro.attitude;
 }

Any suggestions?

Transform.rotation = Origin * -Input.gyro.attitude;

Yes I have tried that and it flips all of the rotations, I only want to flip the rotation on the Z axis not the X and Y axis.

It's a kind of hacky way to do it, but you could use eulerAngles:

 Vector3 euler = Input.gyro.attitude.eulerAngles;
 Transform.eulerAngles += new Vector3 (euler.x, euler.y, -euler.z);

Alternatively you could reflect a component of the vector that you receive rather than the angle you create:

 Quaternion Origin = transform.rotation
 Vector3 Attitude;

 Void Update(){
     Attitude = new Vector3(-Input.gyro.attitude.x, Input.gyro.attitude.y, Input.gyro.attitude.z);
     Transform.rotation = Origin * Attitude;
 }

Actually, attitude needs to be a quaternion.

ooh oops! I was thinking of doing it with gyro.gravity. $$anonymous$$y suggestion here is complete rubbish :D ignore me!
