VerticalLayoutGroup in VerticalLayoutGroup

Hey guys, I just came across an issue with the Unity 4.6 GUI that I'm not sure how to deal with. I have a scrollable list of fields (tournament-types), which each contain another list of fields (tournaments). I am transferring my UI from NGUI to UnityGUI and the issue I ran into when I tried to add a ContentSizeFitter to my child class, which resulted in the warning :

"Parent has a type of layout group component. A child of a layout group should not have a Content Size Fitter component, since it should be driven by the layout group."

However, with a dynamic list of tournaments, the size should actually be driven by the children, not the parent.

My fix is to make the list of tournaments (still with the ContentSizeFitter) the child of a RectTransform with a LayoutElement attached to it.

Then, to update the size of the LayoutElement, I created:

 using UnityEngine;
 using System.Collections;
 using UnityEngine.UI;

 [ExecuteInEditMode]
 public class TournamentWidgetResize : MonoBehaviour
 {
 public float margin;

 private RectTransform tableRect;
 private LayoutElement layoutElement;

 private void OnEnable()
 {
     tableRect = this.GetComponentInChildren<VerticalLayoutGroup>().GetComponent<RectTransform>();
     layoutElement = this.GetComponent<LayoutElement>();
 }

 private void LateUpdate()
 {
     layoutElement.minHeight = tableRect.sizeDelta.y + (margin * 2);
 }

}

It works totally fine, but I am wondering if I am missing something more obvious. Also I felt like sharing this with others in case there is no better solution ;)

Edit: Changed Update to LateUpdate because I had some minor issues on resizing
