Convert trajectory script to 2D

Hi there, I have this script, and it works and finds it's target exactly, however on an orthographic camera you don't get to see it move up the y axis, so is there a way to change it to use the z axis, to give the look of it traveling upwards to the target?

     private Vector3 GetVel( Transform target, float angle )
     {
         Vector3 dir = target.position - transform.position;
         float   h   = dir.y;
         dir.y       = 0;
         float  dist = dir.magnitude;
         float   a   = Mathf.Deg2Rad * angle;
         dir.y       = dist * Mathf.Tan(a);
         dist       += h / Mathf.Tan(a);

         float vel = Mathf.Sqrt( dist * Physics.gravity.magnitude / Mathf.Sin(2 * a ) );

         return vel * dir.normalized;
     }

Couldn't you simply use dir.z ins$$anonymous$$d of dir.y?

An orthographic camera always has x as horizontal and y as vertical axis. The z axis never works for an orthographic camera (unless it is a top down view, in which z becomes vertical and y axis has no effect). This works for me in orthographic view.

@Evil Tak It is top down view, however it just moves across the screen rather than looking like its going up and down, how does this work for you? I need it to use the z axis rather than the y axis.

Then just swap the y and z values of the returned vector.

@Evil Tak This doesn't work, it now doesn't hit it's target at all, the y and z axis both change. Seems like it should work, but it doesn't.
