Unity Client stops receiving UDP after a while

Hi

I am working on a MMORPG using Smartfox Server 2x and Unity. Client sends and receives transform values using UDP. The problem I am facing is that the client receives the data fine for about 5 minutes, and then nothing. The odd thing is that the client can continue sending UDP packets to the server just fine. This happens only when I'm connecting over server but works fine over LAN. I guess this might be an issue of UDP spamming or something like that but I don't know how to handle this. Any help would be great.

Thank for you time.

Anyone have any feedback? Im having a similar issue in Unity. The only info I could find was that the UDP packets may be causing a spam protection trigger.

What network are you running this on? The traffic shaping on the network is likely seeing something that is stopping it from maintaining the link. Test it on a simple network or if this is running on a system at work see if the IT ad$$anonymous$$ can lift some limitations to your station.

A possibility could be that the client is timing out. At least with Photon reliable UDP, clients time out after 15 or so missed packets. That's the answer. I'm sorry I can't provide you a solution specifically for SmartFox but I bet they have something in their documentation to reset the 'tickets' players get from missing packets.

Has same problems in UNet (Unity 5.4.2p4). I post possible fix to another theme

It was problem with MTU in one of routers in network. Router have fragment size limit and request network interface to split packet to smaller fragments, that dont work correctly and Unity send UDP packet again and again.
