Make child object not rotate with parent?

Hi i am making a game where a character needs to be able to get into the car and exit it again. The way i did this is to destroy the player character and enable car control and camera when getting in and when getting out disable car control and camera and spawn an instance of the playercharacter on an empty next to the car. Now when the car is at an angle the empty rotates with it and when it spawns the playercharacter it spawns him on an angle and he keeps walking on an angle even upsidedown if the car is also upsidedown.

Is there any way to make the empty child object of the car not rotate with the car on a certain axys? Also i am using playmaker for this project and pasted a picture of the FSM here http://prntscr.com/5pk6l0 .

If there is any way to fix it preferably using playmaker please let me know!

Does the rotation of the empty matter, or just the rotation of the character when he appears?

It would be easier to change the routine that spawns the character than to update the empty every (frame,tick,...) to keep it upright.

why not just give Quaternion.identity as the rotation in the instantiate command: Instantiate(characterPrefab, empty.position, Quaternion.identity)

Nevermind i fixed by deactivating the playercharacter instead of destroying him on enter and then reactiviting and teleporting him on exit this way he is also always upright. :)
