Vector3.moveTowards with animation

Hi,

I'm trying to get my character to move from A to B while playing animation that doesn't controll my charcter transform position.

I'm using Vector3.MoveTowards to change the position but I want to combine it with animation. I've got an animation of minimal jumping at place (without changing position at the Z axis) and I would like to play the animation with changing the position at the same time.

The reason I'm trying to achieve this is that I want to move the character to a specific position. Here's the code:

 anim.Play("LeftJumpInPlace")
 if (lerpMoving < 1)
 {
     lerpMoving += Time.deltaTime;
     transform.position = Vector3.MoveTowards(transform.position, FredStartPos.position, TranslateSpeed * lerpMoving);
 }

for some reason, the anim starts only after the transform change and I can't sync both animation and transformation change.

I would like to know in what way that could be achieved and if theres a chance to success with transform.translate?
