How to fix menu colors in mono develop

I am using monodevelop in windows 8.1 with a high contrast theme. This leads to all the menus being invisible. It looks like they are being displayed in white text on a white background. The high contrast theme changes the text for menus to white while changing the background to black so it seems like monodevelop is using the text color while ignoring the background color. Is there a way of changing these colors in monodevelop? Otherwise I think I need to report a bug.
