Question by Hoangtaiki · Jan 28, 2015 at 11:10 AM · guiresolutionorthographic

How to support multi resolution in unity. Should setup for highest resolution?

I am newbie in unity. I have a long time develop game by corona sdk and cocos2d-x. In corona and cocos2d-x, I detect resolution and load SD, HD, FHD for each resolution, each ratio. But in Unity I can't do it.

I have read about unity orthographic camera and pixel to unit. But I don't know what I must do it.

First, I design my game in illustrator. My game support Ipad retina. It mean my background size is 1536x2048.

I have two option. One, I set orthographic camera size = 5 and set pixel to unit for background sprite is 200. I feel it ok. But today, I find that. Why I don't set orthographic camera size = 10 and set pixel to unit for background sprite is 100? I try that and I feel it good.

And now I am wonder that: "Which is the best way?". I have design for ipad retina, "What happend with android 480x800? Unity will scale down it. Assume my spritesheet is 40Mb and Ipad retina will load 40Mb into ram and Android 480x800 also load same."

Sorry if you don't understand my question. My english is not very good. Thank for reading my question.
