Stable code to upload Unity web player build on web pages hosted by Linux and windows Apache servers

Hi,

This has been an issue that I have checked on most forums and QAs on unity answers..

I have also tried uploading the generated unity html with .unity3d file... Doesn't load gives error

I have tried adding mime type .. Application/vnd and embedding the unity object Id and class Id code ... This code works but if you do not have web player installed it doesn't give the option link for web player installation

Also I am not able use an overlay header for my web page as when I scroll down the unity web build window goes over the external page overlay layer..

Frankly I am stumped, is there any stable embedding code that works on both windows and Linux Apache servers.

Thanks, Red.

What error do you get when you use the generated unity html/.unity3d file?

Did you try THE SOLUTION mentioned in this video? It requires you to update your existing web.config itself.

Thanks for the reply @Harshad$$anonymous$$... No I hadn't tried what was suggested in that video ... I did come across the page in which it was suggested but had second thoughts about changing the webconfig file... I and my colleague had concerns that it might affect the rest of the webpage in some undesired manner and then after researching further we came across the Application/vnd snippet..(which is said too incorporate the same mime type) But that did not consist of the option to link to unity web player download if unity web player was not installed.

I just require a working code/method for the web build that would embed unity web apps on standard pcs without disturbing any other properties of the web page. But if you suggest this then I could try and make a copy of webconfig file and then modify it.

Thanks, Red
