How to properly use ternary operator in localscale?

Hi, I'm pretty much new to programming and unity, I just wanted to know how can I properly use ternary operation in transform.localscale..

I have this code here that I use to flip the linecast in the x axis whenever the character hits the wall:

 This.transform.localScale = new Vector3((transform.localScale.X == 1)?  -1:1,1,1);

However, I wanted to use the same code in Y axis, I changed the localScale.X to y but still it's changing the X value not the Y. What's the proper format for Y, and maybe for Z?

The ternary operator always works the same:

Equation ? when true : when false;

 this.transform.localScale = new Vector3(1,(transform.localScale.y == 1)?  -1:1,1);
 
 this.transform.localScale = new Vector3(1,1,(transform.localScale.z == 1)?  -1:1);
