Question by billzh · Mar 23, 2015 at 03:14 AM · angleprojectile

multi angled projectiles

I want to make one of the enemies in a game I am working on fire 3 projectiles at a time. One straight forward, one going upwards at an angle, and one going downwards at an angle. All towards the player. I have got the projectile going straightforward working. I am having problems with getting the enemy to fire the other two projectiles at all.

Here is what I have:

public Projectile Projectile

public Transform ProjectileFireLocation;

public Transform TopProjectileFireLocation;

var projectile = (Projectile) Instantiate(Projectile, ProjectileFireLocation.position, ProjectileFireLocation.rotation);

projectile.Initialize(gameObject, _direction, _controller.Velocity);

var projectile2 = (Projectile) Instantiate(Projectile, TopProjectileFireLocation.position, TopProjectileFireLocation.rotation);

projectile2.Initialize(gameObject, _direction, _controller.Velocity);

I have tried using things like:

projectile2.transform.eulerAngles = new Vector3(0, 20, 0);

and quaternion, but it doesn't work for 2nd projectile.

Any help appreciated. Please let me know if I need to supply more details.

These two lines are of interest:

 var projectile2 = (Projectile) Instantiate(Projectile, TopProjectileFireLocation.position, TopProjectileFireLocation.rotation);

 projectile2.Initialize(gameObject, _direction, _controller.Velocity);

What code do you have in the Initialize() function? You have TopProjectileFireLocation.rotation as a public - what is that set to when you instantiate? Also - _direction is a second parameter in your Initialize() function - what is this set to?

This is key to your answer I think.
