Question by Kudaaj · Mar 27, 2015 at 05:04 PM · score

Combine a score over time ui text with a game objects point per click

So basically the title explains a lot, but I can explain more, I have a cube placed in the middle of my screen which has a script attached that floats a a +1 per click on screen, meanwhile I have a ui text that counts one score per second, All I am looking to do is apply the score per click to the score over time ui to add up together. The score per click does not go in to the ui text.

using UnityEngine; using System.Collections;

public class PowerScript : MonoBehaviour {

     float Power = 0;
 public int Powerperclick = 1;
 // Update is called once per frame
 void Update ()
 {
     Power += Time.deltaTime;
 }

     public void IncreaseScore(int amount)
 {
         Power += Powerperclick;
         GUI.Label = "Power " + Power;
  }

 void OnDisable()
 {
     //Look to store somewhere else. Like a packet to persist with dont destroy on load.
     PlayerPrefs.SetInt ("Power", (int)(Power*100));
 }

 void OnGUI()
 {
   GUI.Label (new Rect (330, 20, 300, 300), "Power " + (int)(Power * 1));
 }

}

Any Help would be appreciated, Thanks!

in future, please format ALL of your code.

do you get any errors with this script? line 12 probably isn't necessary..

$$anonymous$$y apologies, I don't know how to fix that. I've kind of changed up my idea a little bit, I've got a prefab I would like to spawn after x seconds, going to need to time it eventually with an other animation, but yeah I have a empty object with a "Score" c# script as follows

 using UnityEngine;
 using System.Collections;

     public var prefab

 public class Score : $$anonymous$$onoBehaviour {

     // Use this for initialization
     void Start () {

     }

     // Update is called once per frame
     void Update () {
         {
         var prefab : VFXScoreRisingFX; var timeDelay = 5;
     }
     }
 }

Have you debugged whether IncreaseScore gets called at all ?

 public void IncreaseScore(int amount)
 {
      Power += Powerperclick;
      Debug.Log("IncreaseScore called");
 }

Aslo, if you have another question about spawning after x seconds, it's better to write a separate question about it. Getting people to answer you questions can be difficult enough as is and if you ask different questions in comments and in the actual question, people will get confused and go to the next thread :-/
