Differentiate a parent 2D collider from a child 2D collider

Hi there!

I want to differentiate the player 2D collider from the shield 2D collider.

Player -Shield

What happens is when a monster hit the shield, the player dies.

So, I want the player to not be affected by the shield, and also the shield to continue to follow the player and protecing him physicially.

Could you show your code and collider tags? Because if your shield is already a child but the player still dies, it could either be that you are not checking for the shield, the enemy does too much damage anyway, or its collider is touching all of them.

I have finally done it!

When my shield collide to an ennemy, it will send a signal to the player. And if this signal is true, the player won't die from the hit.

So you're invincible only when your ennemy will collide with the shield.

You can always check the tags or names on the individual colliders.
