 public void Example()
 {
    //use the name of your play button.
    GameObject playButton = GameObject.Find("Play Button");
    playButton.SetActive(false);
 }

The same proceedure with the other buttons. Here you have the link to the SetActive documentation.

Be sure to make it "public void" so you can execute it by pushing the Play button. Here is the tutorial.

Hope it helped.

I assume you made that with the new UI. You can get a reference to it with eihter GameObject.Find or with Inpsector. After that you can use yourButton.SetActive(false); in Awake method.

Create empty GameObject and make as parent to the buttons u have to make inactive.

Create a C# script file,

1.Declare public Gameobject in the script.[eg: Mainmenu]

2.Assign the parent gameobject to the gameobject created in the script[Mainmenu].

3.Make Mainmenu.SetActive(false) to inactive all the buttons after clicking the play button.

Thanks a lot for the help guys! Didn't expect to get any answer at all! However, guided by this tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pT4uca2bSgc I did something wrong which is why the menu didn't disappear in the first place. Now I fixed it and it works just as I wanted. I'm taking the time to say thank you because you took the time to help me! Thanks.
