Android touch not working

Dear Unity Community,

I have bought an old Android Tablet to use for development and test my games, but I can’t get the touch inputs working?

The last thing I try’d and what I think should’ve worked:

     void Update() {
         foreach (Touch touch in Input.touches) {
             if (touch.phase == TouchPhase.Stationary) {
                 //Code to be executed when they hold their finger on the screen.
             }
             if(touch.phase == TouchPhase.Ended) {
                 //Code to be executed when finger is lifted
             }
     }
 }

I need to execute a code when someone is holding their finger on the screen, and when they release it.

Could someone help me? I am now updating Unity, maybe that will fix it. The tablet I am using is a Lifetab E10316, with Android 4.2.2

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: I am using Unity 5

Your logic seems fine. What was supposed to happen when a touch was detected? Did you attach the script to an object in the scene?

in the docs (http://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/TouchPhase.Stationary.html) it says that the stationary true when the finger hasn't moved. You sure you didn't move your finger? if you want something like old and move, you should use TouchPhase.$$anonymous$$oved.
