After Applying a SetPixel change, the textured model does not update.

I have two car models, both using beffio car paint shaders (from the asset store). I have not found the difference between them but one when i paint on it with setpixels, immediately shows the texture change on the model and in the inspector. The other, using the same code does not change, but if I write out the modified texture to a png - the setpixel changes are indeed there.

The texture is set to ARGB32 and read/writeable on import. If I apply the saved texture to the cars shader in the editor the changes are visible.

Can anyone suggest what is going wrong here?

Don't you have to use texture.apply or something? I can't exactly remember, but I have a feeling there was something you needed to call to 'commit' your changes to the actual texture.

Thank you for replying. I do call texture apply, and the fact that after the apply I can save the modified image to a file means it's all working under the hood, but somehow the updated image doesn't make it to the render or the inspector
