into Unity everytime for me, so whenever I see issues about normals, I suspect Blender origin.

One thing you could try is setting the normals option in the unity model importer to "calculate" instead of "import".

in Blender 2.5, verified the directions of all my normals for faces and vertices are facing the right

also in blender if you go to edit mode select all the vertices/faces and hit ctrl+n it calculates all normals based on the camera and flips them.

created by flipping a left arm object. Solution is to duplicate the mesh then scale it -1 in edit mode and recalculate the normals. Cheers,

Are you trying to get hard edges on an unmodified cube from Blender, and are you using fbx?

recalculate them by hand. For vertices that are not shared, the normal should just be the cross product

IMPORTANT: if you are using a copy of blender downloaded off of Steam, it will not work. Get the official copy from the website!

Hi, I made some models in blender 2.5 but I can't add them to unity. It says that I need 2.45 or higher! How do I fix it...???

Use Blender 2.49 until Blender 2.5x is sorted out and they stop changing things with exporting.

CombineMeshes should always output the same normals as you supply with the input meshes.
